One of the main outcomes of the PeerMent Project is the development of the MENTRA – PeerMent Training Programme, a practical learning programme designed to strengthen mentoring skills within the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI).
Professionals working in creative sectors often follow non-linear career paths and work in dynamic project-based environments. In such contexts, mentoring can play a key role in supporting professional development, knowledge exchange, and peer learning. The PeerMent Training Programme has been designed to provide mentors and educators with practical tools to guide and support this process.
The training programme focuses on building essential mentoring competencies and providing participants with a structured approach to mentoring relationships.
Mentoring in creative sectors often happens informally and without a clear structure. While this flexibility can be valuable, it can also make mentoring relationships difficult to manage or sustain. The MENTRA framework aims to address this challenge by providing mentors and mentees with a clear yet flexible structure that supports effective mentoring processes.
MENTRA helps mentors organise mentoring sessions, guide professional conversations, and support mentees in reflecting on their development goals.
What MENTRA provides
The framework is designed to be simple, practical, and adaptable, allowing mentors to apply it in different professional contexts across the creative and cultural industries.
MENTRA works closely together with the other components of the PeerMent project. While the PeerMent Training Programme introduces the principles and skills of mentoring, MENTRA provides the practical structure that supports the mentoring relationship in practice.
